Default 1910 DWM unit markings ID

    hey folks -
Picked up a 1910 DWM P08 and its the 1st one that I bought that had unit markings on the front grip strap.
Appears to be "2.G.G.R 4. 36" [ pls see attached image for detail ].

Seller claimed that the pistol went to the Weimar police post-Great War and then was picked up by the German
    military for WWII use.

    Any info most appreciated..

Fantastic unit marking, it would be nice to see the rest of it to determine any police service. But the lineage the seller described is very common. The gun has been reblued with out a doubt, but it would be good to see the rest of it to determine if it was a complete overhau by the police or someone post service. Many Reissued imperial era lugers were reblued during the police service.
