Early 41 Sauer

Early 1941 NLB rifle with the early code variation and blank side wall. Sling is an Fr. Offerman and they made slings in this timeframe so it may very well be original. Stock was unfortunately coated which I couldn’t tell from the seller’s pictures so I’m debating if I will send it back or if I can live with it.

Seriously really nice example. Metal finish and blue look outstanding! Sling is nice too and well above average IMHO. The wood doesn't look bad in the photos but as long as you're happy with it. Like Mike said pretty uncommon. Only 1 example in the reference and it also has blank side rail but the roll mark isn't split.

Looks pretty nice to me. Hard to say the stock looks anything but good from pictures for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the stock. But if the issue was not disclosed I might seek some form of compensation, maybe not, I don’t know. I don’t think it would be out of line. I have fixed an oversight with a cash kickback before.
