I’m not trying to be a turd snob but Turd o’ tha Year is a little generous. I’d say I t’s a pretty solid (no pun intended) ToM (Turd o’ tha Month), but I’m not nearly ready to accept ToY.

Lol yeah you're right, this seller in particular has cooked up more interesting ones in the past I think this is the first fake imperial acceptance stamp set I've seen though.

You got that right! He's a trend setter for stupid. He was a fan of huge stamps that never existed like the giant 'Das Reich' stamp he randomly and deeply put on a stock. Totally legit.

eGun (Europe) has a good little business going on fake stock markings, cyphers and acceptance (like this rube, though his are misplaced and too numerous). The German humpers are a little better, they often take the well trod path of starting from scratch, total scrub and remarking (metal and all), though some are lazier and shoddy work (probably have American blood in them from the military occupations..)

Typically the eGun jobs are better done and very early production, which isn't a bad plan, less is known about the early rifles and you can get away with errors easier.

What’s funny is it seems that when these turd mongers get those new stamps they go a bit batshite with them, overpopping everything.

This is exactly right, - the kraut humpers who start from scratch simply imitate legitimate rifles and as a consequence are more difficult to distinguish a bad rife from an authentic one. This mimicry, in combination with good quality stamps and metal work skills, means that only specialists who study nuance can detect some of these rifles.

This is more difficult on the earliest G98's as so few surviving rifles are factory original, especially the stocks. This is probably why they play it this way, they know early original rifles are rare and contrary opinions about their wares will have less weight.

American humpers are far more amateurish, they do not even bother to copy basic patterns that are easily available in an internet search or god forbid, gasp... a "book"...
