help with ID'ing bayonet frog maker

Hello, I currently have this frog paired with a '42 dated bayonet and scabbard, I can make out some letters and "1938" but my search for maker has come up empty.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thank you! Anything special about it or is it valued at standard frog prices 75 or so? I'm considering selling/trading to get a '42 dated frog to better match my current bayonet rig

Slash knows his frogs, clear deciphered, personally i would better remain a prewar piece, it could be used normally with soldier , even with a newer produced bayonets in it. b.r.Andy

I agree with Andy on you keeping your frog. But, that being said, I know about the need to match up the years. I have paired some of my bayonets with frogs of the same year. You might go to the trader and see about trading for a 42 dated frog. I may even have one I would be willing to trade. Have to go do a physical search, never got around to making a frog list and my old a$$ can not remember.

It is a scarce maker. But there does not seem to be a lot of interest in collecting frogs by maker names. Collectors seem more interested in the year of manufacture and overall condition. Your estimate of the value seems reasonable. As Andrej stated i would keep the frog with the bayonet.
