ZF41 Scope Mount Thread

ZF41 Scope 278L

This one is kind of a Frankenstein. Parts of several mounts are evident here. I bought it, only because it had a set of flat rollers on it. The assembler number is only in one spot and the top caps of rings are from another scope mount. The scope was added later to the mount by me. Was just a loose and broken scope I had repaired. But, it is a numbered mount with flat rollers.

Most of my mounts are unnumbered. I bought them to get another type of maker for the scope or ect. and did not care if it was a numbered mount. But I'll keep digging and if I find another numbered ZF41 mount then I will post it here.

Not sure if it is of any help, but I'll post some of my ZF41 related stuff.

Mount only, 1343k, no other markings.

Thanks Wolfgang. Great mounts. I think that first and second ones is a BLM mounts. No duv stamp and the fonts are the same. Thanks for sharing!

Matt,
I am now working on gathering data of mount makings connected to the scope data. When done I will renewal my database list. I hope it will help your research.

Here is an early matching jve ZF41/1 scope/can bearing similar features to the matching can/scope jve ZF41 of Brian’s . This one is jve, 6581, assembly numbers on 3 of 4 ring ends, rifle serial stamped on mount and its last two digits EP(?) on top cap of rings, and with early flat rollers.

It seems to be safe to say the location of "duv" depends on time series, not on the place where the rifle serial number was marked.

Early mounts from early Type1 ZF41 have no "duv".
pic1-1(7220B).jpg pic1-2 (8042L).jpg

When they have started marking "duv", it was in the lower position, under the WaA214. Perhaps this phrase is not correct since the 214 was probably marked after the inspection, after the duv.
pic2-1 (5469).jpg pic2-2 (2788K).jpg pic2-3 (7530F).jpg

Then the duv went up.
pic3-1 (43999).jpg pic3-2(47764E).jpg

All the unnumbered mounts have the duv on this location.

I am not sure I am allowed to do this, since most of the pictures here are the ones I was offered for my database or the ones I have gathered form the net, and not mine.
If you find your number and don't like it here, please let me know and I will delete is ASAP.

I have no intention to highjack this thread, but since there is no one to respond, I will continue to share information with someone interested, if there is any.

The size of the fonts used for the rifle serial# seems to be mainly in two types.

Small size: about 3mm height
b-5170 (bmj60318)FontSize1.jpg

Large size: about 3.5mm height
d-6218 (clb60842)FontSize2.jpg

The Mauser Oberndorf 5digits I have posted all seem to be in 3mm size, except “20753g” which seems to be in 3.5mm size.
g-20753 (cag2161).jpg

As of now, I have no idea of the connection between the size and the rifle makers.
I will look back the photos of each size to find any clue.

Great stuff Ken. Somehow I missed your earlier posts, sorry about that.

I had suspected that there was a difference in font sizes but had never actually measured them. Thanks for the additional examples!

Here is Mauser Berlin AR Rifle Code Scope 9116K. Comes with Matching Can, Scope, Brush, and Cloth. Scope has etched last two digits on caps and assembler number on ends of arms. Optics are very nice.
