Good combat used rifle. Worn but not tired. Evident brush or cleaning marks around disks and radius around routes for recoil lug.
I have seen this before and an leaning toward field done as in the cleaning around the takedown disk evident in over 50% of
my early rifles.
Floorplate assembly replaced in field with armorers parts.
Otherwise a good example of Steyr 1940 production. Also note the large 'E/H' Army acceptance stamp as opposed to the
typical smaller 'E/H' usually found on Steyr produced rifles.
