Interesting. It looks like the green can was re-numbered at some point. Maybe a war time re-issue?

I always thought so. It did not come with a scope. The can was empty when I bought it. I have seen other renumbered scope parts as well. It is the only leather strapped can I have seen for sale, so I have no comparison for it. I would say it has been re-used for a different scope. At least it is interesting I would say.

I feel like I have seen another can with a leather strap like this. I'll have to see if I can find.

Thanks for sharing! Eventually we'll create a ZF41 sticky thread with links to all these ZF41 threads. And I want to have one for each mounting system.

Here are couple more. Both are un-numbered.

Also, the cleaning brush and cloth. These are a little tough to find.

Here is a numbered can, not hand stamped, looks pantograph engraved?

Includes brush, not matching to the scope we have here.

can

Nice one Sauer. Mine just has a WaA and no JVB (Unless it was covered with paint). Does yours have a JVB mark on it? Thanks.

Hi Hercules
on early cans
there is never any marking JVB

IIRR early cans with leather belt loop never have the jvb code. Only WaA and the "WM" in square.
WM = Wessel & Müller Luckenwalde = jvb

info can

All I see is a WaA so far. Please explain what you mean by WM in square? Is it a mark on can?
