1936 Vz24 with Lion Crest

This is not an obvious Beutewaffen but I think this is still the best place to put this.

Picked up this Czechoslovakian army Vz24 mauser. It is all-matching, with no obvious German modifications in as nice a condition as I have ever seen one (though it is missing the front sight protector). Rifle has an unusual feature not normally seen on the VZ24. The sling came with the rifle, no markings though from what I have seen is of Czechoslovakian origin.

Pictures below any comments welcome.

How did I miss that one. Nice pickup. I've been looking for one lately and all I have found is matching stock with unumbered bolt. Must have snuck past me when I was on vacation lol. Congrats.

Wow! I wonder where that was hiding? Really exceptional piece. The wood is just beautiful. Congrats!

Stone cold killer!! This really is the finest Vz24 I believe I have ever seen, congrats on a wonder rifle! I don’t follow them close enough to know for sure, but I feel like German modded rifles are far easier to find than all original Czech. Even then you see a ton of VZ’s in German photographs with clearly white bolts and no apparent modifications so this is definitely posted in the right spot.

They are. All original Czechs I was starting to think didn't exist.

Unfortunally the last pictured bayonet is already a romanian refurbishment.

Andy. Yup. I agree. As I said. Nice. But mine doesn’t hold a candle to his.

The post of mine was actually the nicest one I had ever seen till this post. Maybe I don’t get around enough

Most I see are rode hard and put away wet and not matching.

Clays comments summed it up

I dont know details about Your piece, its a romanian rifle? any links avialable? anyway prior this time i didnt saw a matching configuration of romanian Vz.24 rifle and romanian Vz.24 bayonet. They refurbished it heavily.

@kampfy I assume the barrel matches too? If you ever get tired of it let me know.

Yes, the barrel matches. I am always loathe to disassemble weapons in this kind of condition to look at markings so I hope the hastily taken photo is appreciated.

On a bit of a side note can anybody direct me on what to look for when finding an original bayonet for this?

Thank you for the pic. Great score. I am jealous of that one. Like I said if you ever decide to sell let me know.

As for Bayonets eBay is probably your best bet. Czech vz24 Bayonets with Lion are pretty common.
