Picked this up from another member, thanks again. Finally got around to taking some pictures the other day. The rifle has some issues, but I still really like it. This is the curious one that was missing the buttplate only, I have a feeling the rifle was shipped home in pieces and the BP somehow lost over time. It was definitely apart at some point as the rear band is on upside down.

Love the wood. I have two 37 Sauers, both with nicely figured walnut stocks. Must have been a rush on quality walnut that year.

Ha! That’s awesome, yeah it’s interesting to see the range of grades that were used. I’ve got two as well, the other is fairly plain in comparison, love those prewar Sauers!

That stock is beautiful, thanks for sharing. My next K98k will be an early/pre war with nicely figured hardwood stock...!
