Picked this up from a local picker along with a nothing special 1920 commercial .30 luger...This is one of the nicest lugers I've owned in a while with a 1937 dated holster and e/63 tool and of course the matching magazine....The only way to improve this rig is to find the other matching magazine...Comments welcome... Thanks for looking...Mike

Congrats, very nice looking rig, are the grips numbered or proofed? With Mauser it’s always 50/50 if they are numbered, even early, but either way love the sharp checkering and fit on them, very nice and surely original. Would be a hard rig to upgrade that early.

It doesn't appear the grips have EVER been off this pistol, and I am not going to be the first to remove them.....thanks for the comments, Mike

Ha! A wise choice, no reason to pull them off, they are without doubt original. I’m the same way now on the rear band on K98’s, if it is stuck tight it stays, no reason to mar the wood. Again, congrats, nice rig, I think 38 is one of the best years to snag, fit and finish on them is typically very high.

Wow

Super clean and untouched...I can feel those grips. You cannot upgrade that one. It has the thick blued unfaded back and front grips straps...:hail:

I know what you mean about taking the grips off...Do what I do....take out the mag and shine a bright light in the mag well. You can usually see the numbers.
