I have a BCD 43 that is a russian capture. I was wondering if the serial number on the left side of the rifle would be the original or would it be one that was added by the soviets? Also, is the W part of the serial #?

Simple answer, yes and yes, that is the original German serial number, in the "w" block...

Thanks. I know on the Yugo 98's they changed the serial #s, but wasn't sure about RC.

The Russians 'built around' the original serial number on the barreled receiver and made everything else match that.
