7.65 (pp, ppk, cz27) late war ammo???

I was talking to a cartage collector down at the SOS and asked about 7.65 ammo and why I never see any for sale.

He though that they never made any war time ammo and just used commercial DWM ammo. If you think about it, these guns saw little use compaired to 9mm MP40's eating up rounds like candy.

So, anyway, a friend said his friend's dad brought a gun back from the war with a loaded mag of ammo. I got to see it. He had a real nice early CZ27, and 8 rounds of steel cased DWM 44 ammo (also had a p497ish code, small hard to read).

He wouldn't sell me one, his mom was going to throw the whole rig in the trash.

I wish I would have brought my camera, but no pictures.

So now I've seen some late war rounds in hand. Are they really that hard to find??

TA I have been looking for while now for any wartime made 6.35 or 7.65 ammo steel or brass case, I would love to find a original box, but for now I have to be content with prewar Geco ammo. Yes I would say hard to find. GR

I also collect ctgs and boxes, I'll get my camera out and post some.. 6.35 and 7.65 are very hard to find.. Military issue are almost impossible to locate...BILL

Enjoy this CZ27 7.65mm pistol produced under German Occupation of Czech. and scarce box of military 7.65mm Ammo German military code (ak) 1941......(ak) Munitionsfabriken (formerly Sellier u. Bellot, Prague), Vlasim, Czechoslovakia... I'll dig out some more boxes and post them...BILL

Bill,
If you get time, can you post the head stamp?

So, DWM was making ammo that late?

What do you think one round would be worth? I was going to offer him $20, but I knew he wouldn't take it and after that it really wasn't worth it for me. $20 was too much, but just to get one , $20 doesn't get you much these days anyways.

Oh, and he did pick up some cool post war Geco ammo dated '62.

How in the hell do you guys find this stuff, I have never seen a full box of 7.65 before and I mean I really look for it. Let alone czech.

Interesting

Never thought about this. I have picked up a lot of 9mm but no 7.65. It just doesn't show up very often.....great... now I have something else to look for...:bangdesk:

I bought a PP that came from an estate- it had a PPK mag in the holster with steel case ammo in it. Let me dig it out and take pics.

Here are some boxes and some steel cased ammo...BILL

That's an amazing box of ammo Bill. I've got a Cz.27 and Beretta M.35 (my only 7.65s), but keep on the lookout for such ammo, and have never seen a period military contract box like that.

I was lucky enough to find a box of wartime FN produced 7,65 ammo, I agree, you don't see much of the non 9mm stuff around anywhere....

Thanks for the pictures Bill!!

You have some cool chit!!

whats that blue sealed one mixed in with the red?
