Bayonet help...

I know virtually nothing about bayonets other than what rifle they go to and where they fit. I have had these two for years and have no idea about whether they are uncommon or have any value. I assume a fnj41 is not uncommon but have no idea about a 1915 imperial bayonet. Any thoughts appreciated.

Both nice pieces, untouched by collectors, S98/05aA with leather scabbard, early war period, 41fnj Coppel GmbH with excellent polished blade, which is typical for this maker still in 1941, and nice frog of well known producer C.Riese Berlin, the metall should be light oiled, like mentioned by grimlin to stop rust.b.r.Andy

The Coppel came with a note that it was “ taken from a German soldier on the Siegfried Line”. The S98/05aA was a bring back given to me as a child by a WW1 vet. I’m in the process of putting notes with things of value so my children don’t assume there’s no worth. I assume these are in the one hundred to a few hundred dollar range?

Yes possible, the condition of surface on both scabbards and pommels are not great, as already start to rust, should be have constant temperature and not much humidity in area.b.r.Andy

Many thanks, that’s essentially how they came to me but I will ensure no further damage.
