I found this yesterday at the OGCA show. I know it's not a WWII trainer but I was drawn to the quality. Any idea when this rifle was made? Serial number 160180.
Hope to shoot it tomorrow.

Has that got a 26 inch barrel moosedog? Post war I assume. Saw another with a 156,000 serial no. range made in 1959 which is very similar. Sure looks nice.

Your rifle is a Mauser Es340B probably made around early 1938 (could be late 1937). Serial number range for these starts around 140,000 and ends around 200,000. (there are some earlier rifles in the 123,000-124,000 range). Yours looks like a really nice example. The front sight hood is almost certainly a replacement.
