Some uncommon Mauser and what to do with them

In my younger days i attempted to collect every mauser rifle variation illustrated in R.H.Korn’s “Mauser Gewehr und Mauser Patente.” To some degree I succeeded, and I am now in the process of selling off all but my WW1 and WW2 rifles. Long story short, I am consigning several high end non-military rifles to Amoskeag and am also sending them several common South American rifles of little value.
That leaves several rifles that I feel are quite uncommon and not likely to be appreciated by most casual collectors in an auction like theirs. They include as issued Mauser Model 1893 dated 1896 (bolt MM), almost certainly a Spanish American War bring back or Bannerman piece, a 1893 Turkish rifle (bolt MM), also in original as issued condition with intact Magazine cutoff, a dufflecut bring back with a bullet hole in he butt stock, and lastly, a Belgian Model ‘89 by Hopkins and Allen, also as issued and matching, much nicer than most.
My question is where would I find a site to sell them where they might be appreciated. The first two are not of great value but the Hopkins and Allen probably has some value. I could send them to Amoskeag, put them on the trader here, or......? (I hate Gunbroker!) any thoughts are appreciated. I recognize that i may be over appreciative of them but virtually all of these models were re-done by their respective countries and relatively few remain in original condition. Any thoughts are welcome.

I think there are probably a lot of Mauser fans on this board. I also wouldn't be afraid to post them on the Gunboards forums priced at what you think is fair market value. Either way, I think if you price them realistically they will sell pretty easily and you can avoid the hassle of Gunbroker.

I would offer them here. There are tons of collectors here that dabble in the WWI in general, not just German. They would absolutely go to a good home with anyone on this board.

Good advice all. Let me figure a price and I will put them on the trader. I think I have convinced myself to keep the Belgian ‘89 for now.

I agree, the forum here is good, you won't run into goosestepping goons harassing you here, but I would also do Gunboards trader, for all its mismanagement and obnoxious moderators, they get more traffic and are worth running as a back-up.

If you do decide to go the auction house route, check reputations, get feedback, look into what other houses may have to offer.

There are several collectors out there, like myself, who have more interest in the development story than the production rifles. Send me a PM. I would be interested to see what you have and prices.

I personally find the odd one off rifles far more gratifying than trying to collect every production variant or maker/contract.

It is disheartening to see a "low production" "rare" or what have you K98 rifle sell for $5k, when there were tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands made.

But a rare rifle with less than 200 made... struggles to get $500 at auction. I bought a extremely rare rifle a couple years ago, Jon Speed owns one example, I own another, no other examples are known to exist. I would have been hard pressed to buy a nice K98 all matching, duffle cut, for what I paid for it.

Any rifles that are in Korn's book are certainly of interest to me. They will go nicely with my original copy.

Let me know about the Spanish and Turk rifles as well.
