43 cof

Just received this from a forum member who has been very helpful with finding multiple bayonets. He still has one that I could use, just need him to find another fancy item. I have one but the blade was shorter and I wanted one that had no question about being correct. When I dig the other one out I will take pictures side by side. I know this one has some use but does anyone have any idea why quality went downhill so fast? The machining marks are at least as pronounced as some of my 44’s, maybe a little worse. As always, look forward to your thoughts.

Glad it upgraded one for you. Was a decent blade for a decent price, which I really didn’t need. So why not pass the deal along.

Slash, I am sure you or Andy would know. Is this a newly discovered bayonet or has it already been put into the database?

What a shame you chose to alter/ruin that blade with oil.

Nice cof43,little used as visible on scabbard, i didnt have it in dbase. Second half of 1943 is already spare time by production in large degree. b.r.Andy

I did not have it recorded. cof43 begin to show a really rough overall appearance beginning in around the l and m blocks. There are also a number of pieces in the p, q, r, s, and t blocks that have were factory scrubbed with the date/code, serial numbers, and on some examples the WaA markings removed. Perhaps to fill a behoerden contract ....
