Hi,
I recently inherited a k98 and I would like to know more about it. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Looks to be a nice rifle. It was produced in 1944 at Waffenwerke Brünn II in Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia. Do you have any other photos of the stock?

Is it missing the front band?

I guess it is. Will that have any effects when shooting?

You can always purchase another correct band to put on, but unfortunately the rifle wouldn’t be matching at that point.

hard to see the rest but, lucky for you un-numbered Czech upper bands are somewhat easy to find and would only have a small effect on value.
