Elite Diamond 39 with painted scabbard and "DAK" frog.

Occasionally German bayonets are seen with over-painted scabbards. Sometimes this is either due to field refurbishment or more often, applied after the war for various reasons. Your bayonet rig, though mismatched, certainly has the look of something having been together (with frog) for a long time. In addition, the tan tropical paint applied to the scabbard exhibits the same age and usage. Taken as a whole, it looks like a righteous rig to me.
 
Since the tan "tropical" paint was used right up to the end of WW2, it would be difficult without a provenance, to ascertain when the paint was actually applied, or where the rig actually came from. Agreed that the frog could have been mated with the bayonet at just about any time...
 
Yes its possible the piece is DAK period, possible used by Israel and sharpened on blade in time. The serialing with color is not typical by germans. b.r.Andy
