fze 43

Went to the Allentown Show this weekend. Found what I consider a high condition bayonet. Other than the two dings in the scabbard I can’t see how I could upgrade. Makes me really want a fze 44. What are the production numbers for 43 and 44? Anyone have one they are willing to part with please let me know. Let me know what you think.

Here are the last few pictures. I have to say, I am liking this new server. Much faster to upload the pictures.

Very nice untouched condition 43fze, no spures of wearing on scabbard, so probably a depot piece.
I have reported 43fze in k range, 44 in c range. b.r.Andy

As always, I appreciate your willingness to share knowledge. Would you be willing to share pictures of your 44?

Its reported only in my dbase, i dont have the 44fze piece, but have a older 43fze, unfortunally partly reblued in time and wout scabbard. It was my first S84/98 bayonet. Its a h range.

It is good to hear Allentown still turns up some nice stuff. Several collector friends of mine were fondly "singing the praises" of Allentown back in the 1980s, as one of the better shows in that part of the country. Once had a killer G43 "bcd43" which hailed from that show...

That is a very nice example... here is mine in the “D” block with wooden grips.

Still a nice piece as it is matching and not sharpened. The scabbards took most of the abuse and with the thin layer of blueing they did not hold up well to the elements. Would this be considered a more difficult bayonet to find or more common?

The show was smaller this time as there were two other shows the same weekend. This may have given me an opportunity to find a bayonet that would have been normally picked up by a dealer on Friday. I found five other matching bayonets but either the dealer wanted a silly amount of money for it or it was a maker/year that I already had.
