Sauer & Sohn Mod 98 help

Hello everyone,
I have an opportunity to buy a Sauer & Sohn Model 98. It is a Russian capture, CE 44, non matching rifle in fair condition. Stock has many dings and scratches. They are asking $900. Does this seem like a fair price? I'm not looking for something pristine, but a nice rifle that I don't have to worry about shooting. Also have not personally held the rifle, it's an hour and a half away.

Thank you in advance,
Joe

At the very least, $200 too much. $700 is a fair going rate but I've seen (and sold) some for $600. Yugo captures will be even cheaper, with some lucky ones below $500 but most are closer to the $500-700 range.

need better clearer pictures, yep too much at that price

question this there a serial number on the buttplate???

Thank you both. I think I'm just going to pass on this one and research more while I keep an eye out.
