K-43 shooter

Bolt carrier has been renumbered and the scope Mt. is a repro. More like a $2500.00 Gun.

I would offer him 2K for the rifle itself after inspection, he can keep his missing parts scope & repro Mt.

Except for the scope and mount, it is a great example of a VOPO G/K43.
X on left receiver
VOPO sunburst hiding by the 5 in 45 (poor lighting)
VOPO sanded/coloured stock (I have a theory this was done with sanded shellac, because that is one way to replicate that finish).
Blued Buttplate
Electopenciled Mag side and bottom.
Forces matched bolt.
Likely other parts are VOPO forced matched and stamped.

Would make a great shooter for 2k or as a VOPO it closely inspected may be worth 3-3.5k (not up to date with prices of VOPOs in the USA but they are listed as scarce in Darrin’s book)

May have an original sling.

Also confident it isn’t a durofol hand guard (which can be correct on a duv/qve rifle), but due to the red glass, I suspect it is a rare East German Hand Guard. Rare variation in its own right and can’t get big $’s

Would need more and better pics.

This is what a proper VOPO G/K 43 should look like.

The sling in the op's post appears to be Israeli, stock was also heavily sanded after E. German service.

The bolt carrier was ether replaced and/or re-stamped after E. German service.

E. German clone Durofol bottom, original Durofol top.
