I like it. The ink could be fine, I’ve had a couple with illegible ink stamps. If it were very clear and exotic ink stamp with SS or an eagle or something I’d be worried, but some blurred maker is probably ok.

That is question for Slash, i dont saw a LLG stamp on canvas frog to this time, under LLG should be the land designation. b.r.Andy

The frog is original but I'm suspicious of the ink stamping. Like Andrej, I have never seen a L.L.G. ink stamping on web gear or canvas material. L.L.G. is an abbreviation or acronym for Landes-Lieferungs-Genossenschaft der Sattler. The "sattler" indicating a leather producing firm. Here we find it on canvas which is quite unusual. There were large companies that produced items of leather and canvas as well as other material; Friedrich Offermann & Söhne of Bensberg as an example but the L.L.G indicates a small consortium of firms. Not a large, stand-a-lone concern. Can't make out the second line of the stamping. Looks like six letters which could be for Bremen or Hessen, both known L.L.G. locations. By far the greatest majority of tropical frogs are unmarked. And as we see all too often some folks can not seem to leave well enough alone. Would need to see more to be convinced as it just doesn't ring true for me.

I wonder if it could be removed? May be able to rub it out. But again, I don’t think a stamp brings much premium? Seems useless.

I believe Slash is correct, there could be LLG/HESSEN /1942 question its proper or not, the frog looks ok to me. b.r.Andy

Stitching of the linked piece is strange, question of the stamp is too on place. Maybe they produced any web material too.
Should be searched for more details.
Hessen is a small country inside of Germany Bundes Republic.

The photograph provided from the DAK forum does not change my opinion.

You are absolutely right, it's just another one frog with that stamp...

Sadly I was absolutely wrong. This frog is 100% original as is the stamping. At the time there was some reason to believe that the stamping was an embellishment but with further research this is actually a relatively well known marking for original web gear. Since this exchange have had the opportunity to handle an example of this frog as well as a pack and couple of web belts. All bearing the L.L.G. > Hessen > 1942 ink stamping (1941 stampings are also known). Wanted to correct the record as I choked badly on this one .....

To revisit a two year old post just to acknowledge a previously made comment was in error is the mark of the true collector. I tip my hat to you, sir!

I didn't see this thread. I have that stamp I believe on a web frog of mine that was a woodwork piece, cheap, one of the first web frogs I bought, probably in the mid 80s. I still have it, need to dig it out. Just from collecting MP.40 pouches, I can say that most of the MP.40 pouch makers, which used web and cloth, also were also contractors for things like leather holsters, belts, K98k pouches, etc.
