    Default Rifles looking for mount/scopes

Having seen this from other collector forums plus having learnt that it does happen that a gun can be reunited with its matching numbers mount/scope I thought it would be a good idea if we would also have a thread for it. The idea is to post some basic information (or more, if you want to) on your gun that had lost its original scope. Especially essential is that the information you provide minimum contains:
    1. What gun you have (e.g. K98k, K.43, ...)
    2. What serial your gun is (if with Suffix, then post it with Suffix)
    3. What type of mount you are looking for (Long Side Rail, Turret Mount, ZF4 mount, ..)

It is mandatory to post the serial number in written text and not via a picture!

There is a very simple reason for this: if you write your serial number Google search will be able to find it, what will not happen with only pictures showing serials. Especially when scopes turn up in online auctions anyone could open Google, search for the rifle serial and if it is on this list in here, it will show up as result. I'm sure another member here will make the person searching for it aware (best would be via PM, by the way, to not go past the forum rules).

While not necessary I'll try to re-post all information in the starting thread, as long as I can edit it, so that its easy for private individuals to see all searches without having to search through all posts. Mods are also encouraged to edit my post, I don't know if it happens that I become too lazy or if something else happens with me.

Not a bad idea. It would be good if we only posted rifles here and started another thread "mounts looking for rifles" to post scope mount serial numbers. It we get plenty of posts I can make it a sticky thread.

Also, it is probably be a waste of time to post a G/K43 rifle looking for a mount since there is no way of knowing if it ever was a sniper. With the exception of the late BLM rifles with the ZF k43 stamping.

I know some have said it in the past, but in regards to G/K43s , it would be more productive to purchase a legit numbered mount and hunt for the base rifle as opposed to the other way round.

Yes I agree. Thatís why I think another thread for scopes would be a good place to post mounts in hopes a rifle is found.

Yes of course, this thread was not supposed for mounts/scopes looking for its rifle, but only rifles looking for mounts. It makes much more sense to do another thread for the opposite thing. I would however not outrule the G/K.43 completely. I've recently been asked my someone if I knew who the owner of a particular ZF4 mount which was listed to be serialized to a certain rifle serial in the listing of Claus Espeholt was, because he has a rifle with the serial matching to it. Claus Espeholt didn't document the owner (at least I've been told this way), so in this case in my opinion it makes sense to ask for a ZF4 mount with a certain serial number.

Matt, should I also open the opposite thread for mounts/scopes looking for rifles, or will you do it? I hope I'll finally get to check my rifles missing their matching scopes later today and then will update the starting post with the first few searches that had been listed and encourage all others to do the same thing!

You should go ahead and start it since you started this one. We will figure out the best way to organize the info later.

First listing created in starting post. Hope to get more submits, don't be shy if you ever had hoped to get your rifle matched!
