Polish Mauser delta marking

veloce

Hello, everyone:
I recently purchased an interesting Mauser rifle:
It appears to be a Polish Mauser that has no chamber marking(not scrubbed, just never had one applied), a 5 digit serial number with no suffix and a Delta triangle mark immediately following the serial number on the receiver and on the bolt.
Would this be a a late 1939 “mobilization” rifle, pressed into service after initially being rejected by the Polish army inspectors? (Similar to the delta marked Polish VIS pistols)
If so - how rare are these?
Thank you!

Some detailed, clear photos of the marking in question and the rest of the rifle would help to determine what you have.

Best,
Pat

Any stock markings? I Do notice that the rear barrel band is not the one usually found on a wz29 but I don’t recognize it.

To me this looks like Spanish Civil war use, the sling points look heavily Spanish very similar to my m43 spanish mauser

Sling band on Polish rifle

I beg to disagree that the lower band is Spanish M43. the Army version of that rifle has swivels for both bottom & side slings, but the clamp screw is at the bottom of the lower band, rather than the side. The Air Force version of the M43 had side sling only. The band pictured is more like, but not the same as, the lower band on some of the Czech-made rifles......(but I don’t know what it really is)
