G43 duv44 2591 f block

Hi everyone! I've read this forum some time and finally I bought something that you'd probably want to enjoy with me.

I'm from Finland and I found this rifle from local gunshow. The previous owner had this rifle nearly 20 years. He told me that he bought it from Norway.

The Rifle is ofcourse Walther G43 duv 44 made in Berlin Lübecker Maschinenfabrik 1944. Serial is 2591f. As far as I know, everything is untouched and matching. Bore is in excellent shape. I guess this rifle never saw much action. The sling is original. Please feel free to comment and tell me anything you can about this rifle.

The stock is very interesting. It is flat front of the magazine which is not correct for BLM made rifles. However it has WaA214 stamps on the side of butt stock and behind the trigger, but also WaAC10 stamp under the butt stock next to serial number. Do you know what this means? Maybe BLM was running short from stocks? Or is this replacement stock?

The ZF4 is bought separately by the previous owner. It is interesting as it's serialized 42042. I have read that Opticotechna GmbH made these only around 40 000 so this has to be very late production. I think the mount might be reproduction?

I tried to photograph everything precisely. Ask more photos if you want.

I only glanced but it looks like a nice rifle.
Scope is a lined out Czech Capture. If you took it out of the mount you may have some hidden Czech markings including a Rampant Lion on the bottom of the scope.

Also any estimates about the value are welcome. I paid 2350€ (2650$) for it.

Thank you for taking the time to share!

Your stock is a sub contracted (WaAC10) stock that can show up on all G/K43 manufacturers occasionally.

Looks like a gorgeous rifle. I’m not an expert or anything with the scope/mounts, so I cannot add much to that. The only thing I see “wrong” is the front sight hood looks like a K.98k type.

Are both locking lugs and the firing pin housing matching?

Yes, both lugs and firing pin housing matches. The height of front sight hood got my eye also. There is very little room between the front sight and the hood, but I had no idea what it really should look like. Thanks for helping with that!

They are a little taller and fit evenly front to back of the front sight assembly.

We would need you to take the mount off the rifle and get pictures of the front/back/top/sides and bottom to give you more information on the mount.

As per value, you've done well. MM shooters start at around $1500-2000 in the USA, scopes like your realize $400-600 and repro mounts $125+ with originals mounts reaching as high as $1500.

Here is pictures of the mount. It has 359 stamp on it.

What is price range for all matching rifles?

I would say a reproduction mount, likely one of the more recent ones seen with rough finish, WaA359 and fake serial number. Very small chance it could be original, but if so I use the term 'original' lightly as it would be heavily modified (buffed, refinished, parts added etc.).

All matching rifles go for $2000-6000 USD, I know that is quite a range but it depends on who is selling/buyer/rarity/etc.

Original mounts with scopes go for $1500-3000 USD, I know that is quite a range but it depends on who is selling/buyer/rarity/etc. Lots of original mounts have repro parts (bands, screws, levers).

True all matching snipers with original matching mounts/optics are extremely rare and if you had the right buyer, someone could name a price.

Thank you very much! I appreciate your thorough answers, it was very helpful.

Marking on Receiver

I have a question about the markings on your receiver. I can't tell for sure from your very good photos, but it looks like the "f" in the serial no. on the receiver was made with a damaged stamp with the top missing from the "f"? The reason I ask is because I have duv G43 serial no. 3900 f that has that kind of marking on it. I was just wondering how long they used the damaged stamp. Thank you very much for the very nice photos of your duv G43.

That's very interesting. I've tried to find photos of rifles that are close to mine in the production line, but ofcourse that's not so easy. I'd like to see photos of yours.

About the stamp. Yes the f on the receiver is definitely missing its top part. I thought that it could have been just product of careless stamping as the numbers are not very clear either. But now when you pointed out that the stamp could have been broken it maybe seems to be more likely. That's because there isn't any kind of mark of the letters upper part. Bad stamping would have maybe just left the upper part of the f light. It's clear that if broken stamp was the case, they wouldn't let that slow down the production in 1944 and it would appear in many rifles, but wow over 1000 rifles?

At the same time the f on bolt carrier is very sharp and well stamped. Here's few pictures.

mount is an old reproduction. rifle looks legit, f is mis_ handled/strike not a broken stamp.

Thanks for sharing.
