the only thing I can pick up on is the interior of the hand guard. Looks like something spilled in there ?
 
Nice rifle! Something obviously got spilled on it.That stain probably got there BEFORE assembly.
The stain is only in the handguard none in the stock barrel channel. Would like to see a photo of
barrel that corresponds to the location of the stain in the handguard.
 
the other possibility is it isn't the original HG as it doesn't match the look of the rest of the rifle. It all depends on the price as the hand guards are often lost or broken and replaced..

I don’t know, the font looks the same but something spilled in there. I was really happy with the overall condition of the whole rifle.
