I had a friend reach out to me to sell a few guns and the one Im interested in is the Polish Radom Wz29

Its described as a good bore showing some use, no import stamp, and no matching numbers unfortunately.

He's asking $400.

I do not see Wz29s around here very often. Ill post the few pics he sent last night, and I would love to hear everyones thoughts.

For $400??? You'd be nuts not to grab it...hell if you don't want it, I'll buy it!

They are cool, and you are right, not really common. I think its a no brainer!

Buy it and post pics!

If the bolt matches, its an infantry rifle...they used straight bolts for infantry, turn down bolts for cav...all the stocks had the bolt cut out regardless...

ETA Oh, I see you say no matching numbers...in any case, I'd grab it!

Yeah, Im thinking it would be dumb to pass it up, I was really curious as to why some show up with straight bolts and some with bent bolts, thanks for explaining that part.

I will say though that the bolt and parts on this one looks a bit too shiny, so Im wondering if it came out of a completely different type of rifle all together

Just the fact that its not import marked makes me feel better about it.

Meh, wouldn't even worry about it...just buy it! Plus it looks like it has a 98k sling on it...bonus!

Seriously, it's a no brainer IMHO...

Don’t buy it!!!,
It’s a mistake!

Give me that guys contact number so I can talk to him about taking advantage of you !

$400 rifle with a $100-$120 sling thrown in?
Do the math.

I’d buy it. The scrubbed SCW ones bring more than that. You can always sell down the road if you find a better example.

Finally got a second to look it over better.

The stock itself and butt plate match the receiver. Score !!!! The rear sight does also.

The bolt doesn’t match but it’s got the polish crest stamp.
Floor plate doesn’t match either.

I thought the last inch of the muzzle was very weak of rifling - but I scrubbed it out just now and the bore is actually very nice, it shows use, but no pitting etc

I asked the guy how he got it hoping there was some super cool story but there wasn’t. He just got it from some guy carrying it around a gun show. It came with that sling in it - L&F marked but I can’t find a date.

I like this rifle more each time I pick it up

If I'm not mistaken, the original bolts ARE in the white, German "captured" ones were often blued.

Production Information

The production chart I see shows there were 28,200 made I 1934 tough it is still up to debate as any solid information on these is a challenge. I LOVE my 1930 K29 (wz29, but marked different).

Ok I’m extremely curious about this rifles true value now that I’ve seen a couple posted for sale recently, does anyone have a ballpark idea of what this rifle is worth ?
I’m not interested in selling it but it would be good to know.

I think I would agree that for $400 these days, probably a very good price and hard to go wrong. Of course if it was all matching it would probably sell for $1000 or well more. Being mismatched hurts value, but at least it has a crest. Most here in the US are probably the blank receiver models imported from Spain and also mismatched. I would think that one could bring ballpark $500-700 maybe, depending on the buyer.
