1941 Luftwaffe Tropical Femaru Rig

EOD - bombs and bullets
Being at home, been spending too much time watching Gunboards and eBay and such...this (the holster) popped up on Gunboards, happened to catch it about 10 minutes after it was listed, and jumped on it.

I've been after a nice "tropical" Femaru canvas and leather for a while now. This one looked nice, wasn't going to wait. I had the 41 contract gun, it was in a leather drop holster (same as my 43 contract)…

Got the 41 gun and spare mag swapped over, and though I'd grab some pics. The holster is nicely marke hsy, 1941, and an Eagle over 7 Luftamt. The ink mark inside the flap is pretty worn, but somewhat readable in person.

It sure makes a great looking rig...and now I have a spare drop holster...

Nice. I ended up with one of these holsters and a Hungarian Femaru as part of a larger deal. At that point I’d never even heard of the thing! Pistol felt very very solid. Shouldn’t have sold it.

Nice rig

Have the same rig... The canvas holsters are cool. Hsy is rarer than Cdc as Wayne says.

This is mine, marked CDC41

Thanks for all the nice comments guys...Always loved the Femaru...very solid weapon...hell if you can't put an attacker down with a full mag, hit him with it, that will put him down!

Yeah, the prices on these tend to be pretty high, this one popped up at $300, while not a steal, considering what I have seen price wise, thought it was fair, figured what the hell, its only money...

I have posted the family portrait before, but I have been lucky enough to have one each so far...Hungarian issue, 41 contract, 43 contract...still need to get another German spare mag to complete all 3...

And as I stated in my thread on the Hungarian 31M I picked up, I have a soft spot for Hungarian weapons...Hungarian WWII stuff is so hard to find. And I think Gun Jesus needs to do a book on Hungarian weapons! Not much for reference out there...

Thanks and hope you did not mind me tagging along on your thread.
I wondered about canvas colors also. I wonder if it was just unique to manufacturers or just the way they faded..
Nice one, primo holster, like the lighter brown leather and greener canvas...

I think its likely a combination of manufacturer variations, and use and care...I see yours is a different maker than mine...

One thing that surprises me, I think these Femaru holsters are the only German holsters I can think of that use canvas and leather combos, and don't think the Germans ever did an all web holster like Britain and Commonwealth countries and a few others...

Nice pick up [emoji106]

Hey, have you ever been to Hungary? I wonder how available any of this stuff is over there...you'd think they'd have a higher concentration of Hungarian and this sort of gear left over there, just wonder if its findable over there...

Yes but its been a couple of years, i surf vatera a lot but its a coin toss to if they will ship here and take paypal as payment I always message seller and ask before hand. I have been pretty bummed out on a couple of hungarian items that you would never see for sale here but the effort is worth the reward sometimes. Other than hungarian items anything like german or german contract items are overpriced and can be found here for cheaper. I have grabbed rifle slings , officer belts, tunic, books , paper item, photos, etc from vatera and another multi country auction site. Nobody likes hungarian stuff here so its one of the few places to even look.
