Misdirection Turd Auction: 98k byf 44 30280 i

Yep.

Do the bidders look like those who would swing for the fence on this? Last win was a $99 sharpened M1 bayonet?

I guess someone did.....NR Bidder at $2900.00

The NR Winner at the $2900 BIN, "Laxatl", signed up yesterday. The seller is out of "ATL" as well:

How convenient. Even if all this circus was 100% legit (doubtful) it just screams scam. Take his defense of 'just having to cover my costs' as the justification for doubling or tripling the price he just paid 8 days before on the same auction site. Opening the cardboard box and taking 150 pictures must be REALLY expensive in Atlanta?

This what creates misleading pricing information. This rifle purportedly "sold" for a "buy it now" price of $2,900.00. Yet almost three weeks post "win" there is no feedback for the NR "winner":

What a joke. NO feedback. Bad, good, knob gobblin... nothing. The 'I don't know you' but we're having a bromanse in the feedback is really lame too. Just like most of the humpers they can't get these details right either.

Looks weird, but I don't know why anyone would fake a BIN on this one. It started at $2,500, was at $2,700 with a BIN at $2,900. Are BIN cheaper than auction wins?

No. To me that's the desperation "I've got to have it right now before I lose the gem forever!" button. So some random NR dude just scrolling through high dollar NAZI rifles just HAD to have that piece? Sure. I totally believe that's a legit sale.

idk, I just don't understand why anyone would shill a BIN like that unless they thought it would sell for way more than $2,900 given the opportunity to go higher.

Or they're trying to artificially inflate a benchmark? Point to past 'sales' when trying to hook a rube?

Not to hijack this thread but I have a BYF 44 that is a stock and band mismatch (that I know of). It shares some characteristics with the gun in question. It has the serial number on the one side of the safety and the same 18 stamp. My sight leaf Is also marked the same. Perhaps it could have been a contract part, or both of ours are faked!

Ding ding ding. Winning comment. Getting it shut down to resurrect it again with a $2900 “value”.

On the safety, the problem is it’s a replacement, unnumbered. It should be numbered.
