Spandau 1911

So I have to think Chris again for giving me this lead about this rifle. I'm getting closer and closer to completing my Gew 98 date set. I can check off 1911 now. The bolt is not matching but the bolt matches itself. The magazine cover is marked BYF. Everything else is matching down to the screws. There is an older repair to the wrist of the stock. I'm extremely happy to add this to my collection.

P.S. I don't know why two of my pictures are upside down.

A fantastic rifle Michael let me check my parts lot I may have an armorer's replacement floor plate for you.
Agree completely, so glad you got it Mike!

If Jordan doesn't have a floorplate, let me know. I believe I still have a couple unnumbered spares.

Michael, do a couple of the stock acceptance. The lower buttstock and wrist and under the cypher. Also whether it has the suffix above the top screw of the buttplate. Spandau production in 1910 was to the high c-block and high d-blocks 1911, 1912, 1913, they had recovered their G98 vigor after ending the 98a production in 1909.

Spandau was the only confirmed maker to produce the G98 1899-1917, even though WMO possibly made 1898-1918, - several years are only reports known and no WMO/04 is even reported, but production was so low at WMO prior to 1914 (1906 & 1907 WMO & DWM were very high due to the arsenals diversion to the 98a) that all years could be possible.

If he doesn't have a spare for you, I do. I rummaged through my box and also found a 77 gewehr 98 floorplate, though I can't tell from the picture if it would be a good match condition/bluing.

Thank you Fal Grunt. If Jordan doesn't have the part. Grunt you don't live to far from me. Also I'll get you those pictures Paul.
