Hello guys
I'm new to the group. Still hoping to learn some more on the history of my rifle.
I found on this forum a thread on long rails on the k98.
The original rifle posted has the same serial nr except for the rail itself wich has the serial nr 8063.
Now my own k98, has that 8063 serial number throughout the rifle. It has not one part with a different nr.
Is it possible that I have the original rifle that that rail came from?
Here's the link... http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread...-Sold-at-RIA-for-30K&highlight=Long+Side+Rail
I'm just itching to know. I am in South Africa.
Il post some picks later showing the nrs. I baught it as is in a bit of a state. It has already been modernized with a different stock and scope mounts showing some light rust externally but the barrel, action etc were in good nick.
It's now my permanent hunting rifle.
