K98 in a Gew 98 Stock?

Hello everybody, new member here. I bought what I think is either a weird arsenal job or a bubba job, but I would love to hear opinions or infomation. I thought it might be a Standardmodel at first with the finger grooves and bottom mounted sling swivels. The markings are normal for a 1937 K98 though, besides the big S on the barrel which I've only ever seen on imperial Gew 88/98s. The stock is a cut down Gew 98 one, with a mix of imperial and waffen stamps, but strangely the serial number matches the rifle. Has anybody ever seen another K98 in a matching Gew 98 stock? I paid less than an average k98 is going for (in the current market) so dont hold back if it's bad news. Thanks everybody. More pics at this link ( https://m.imgur.com/a/UnXv6LD )

Really don't have enough photos to decide. It's odd that the stock would be used without adding the bolt cutout beneath it, but reworks and salvaged guns can be bizarre. Any wrist markings? how much of the rifle matches?

That's a good point, and it's why I'm a bit confused by this rifle. There's the remains of a stamp on the wrist, looks like a crown but it's faded. You'd also think that they'd cut out the sling slot to make it accept the standard sling. The stock is marked with the same serial number on the butt and under the barrel, and the bolt is matched except the cocking piece hood. Other than that the front barrel band and the floor plate are mismatched. The forum says that I've reached my upload limit, but I've thrown all the pictures I have into this link. ( https://m.imgur.com/a/EuoeqCj ). In there I show the stock serial and some other close ups. If this was a mash up, it's weird that somebody would stamp the right serials into the stock but not add the bolt cut out.
