I'm not a helmet collector and posting this for my friend. The liner, chinstrap, and two rivets are dated 1935. It was purchased in a VT antique shop circa 1972 for $10. The eagle seems to have a rather small hakenkreuz. What do you think?

Ken, standard M.35 NS with a “de-nazified” eagle decal, or perhaps an unenthusiastic attempt at removal per 1943 orders. Looks like some low velocity impacts, perhaps from Junior’s Benjamin Pump air rifle. The small swastika and decal in the back rim look like something Junior did as well, Junior being a Boomer and all. This type of kid postwar asshattery with vetpop’s Nazi lid was not uncommon. Many times after Junior the Boomer bored of such antics the lid would end up out at the street for garbage pickup. Lots of German lids floating around then.
