Hello everyone, figured I'd share my first k98 with the story upon how I got it. Always been into ww2 things. Specifically german stuff. But never had any relics or anything. I wasn't even really into guns either. But my wifes father had a k98 he sold to ger uncle. Because he hates "nazi stuff" for $100 but it has been in her family for decades. Anyway I heard about it and called him and met up and purchased it for $150. I had never held or seen a k98 in person before but I knew what it was. But didn't know any of the markings. This was all about 3 years ago. And I have learned alot since then and now I'm hooked and have 3 of them lol

Anyway on to the rifle.
TOTAL mismatch. Literally everything on this thing is a different serial. Only 2 matching things on it are the barrel and receiver. Walnut stock, laminated handguard, later period barrel bands etc. Still learning everything else. But all the patina matches. Ill never change anything on it. Its clearly seen lots of action and thats what I love about it. And its not a Russian capture. What do you all think of it?
