Information on my "Duffle Cut"

Purchased this at an online auction, I am believing it to be a duffel cut. It is a 42 manufactured 1940 4655. Was looking for more information particularly on the bolt numbering 4920 (which appears to be an ERMA bolt based on the 280 proof mark) and the stock. I am having a hard time adding more pictures.

I was able to add more pictures. Was wondering the challenge behind getting a replacement stock, something with maybe the same proof markings or close production dates. Seems like the front sling is attached to that metal "cap" so will need to wait to get it off the stock.

Also wondering if there would be any historical significance to a completely different bolt.

recoil lug is in the stock “backwards”, ie the nut belongs on the right side of the stock, the ‘head’ on the left.

Last thing I have on this. Looking to get a new stock and was wondering if anyone had an input on removing what appears to be metal end cap holding on this repo stock. I'm guessing just careful heating with a torch. Thanks for everything so far.

Are you sure that cap is steel? To me, it appears to be the same nose as used on Bishop, etc., sporter stock.
Perhaps it's glued? I'd drive that band off, and not worry about the other.

Now I have no idea if this rifle is legit or what to think, I knew going into the stock was probably a repo but now...:(

Edt: After some research I guess that serial number is a steel lot number? Pretty blown away by all I have seen of extreme German serialization of parts that when I seen that my heart dropped. Going to be getting a e/29 stock upgrade very soon.

Great possibility. Seems like a lot of Leszek's blanks have similar mineral stripes in the walnut.

This seems to have been a lot of trouble getting a "not cheap" repro stock and then cutting it up to sporter it? So many already sportered K98k stocks around for next to nothing.
