Picked this up about a month ago, but with the dismal performance of Canada post, I’m just getting it now. I am rebuilding my 1944 bayonet collection after some new laws in Canada screwed me over with my other hobby. So this is not as good as the cqh I previously had. It’s well worn, but I found it myself and the blade is pretty nice still. Nicer then the photos show but I’d like to upgrade it someday.

Looks to me that the scabbard numbers are electric pencil etch. And the blade is number stamped. To different fonts. Not a fan. Im sure some one else will shed some light on this. Did they do this or it was played with. SVW1945

It’s 100% legit. Look at a few others......all have different fonts. Lots of makers used two different fonts from scabbard to blade.

This one even has that same metal appearance in the stamps.

Looks like a nice examble.
Scabbard numbers are stamped for me. If you want to be safe, remove the spring (mouthpiece) and take a look inside.

I guess you are right CanadianAR. I just never saw ones like yours. Not real familiar with this code. Did not think the Germans had did this. They where always so particular what they made.

There is nothing wrong with this bayonet/scabbard. 100% original and untampered with in any way. The stampings on both the bayonet and scabbard are completely standard for Clemen & Jung during this period. And there is no need to disassemble the scabbard. Nice set that has been there .....

That’s a nice set! Uncommon code in any condition, I’d say it’s more than just a place holder.
