No War Eagles For You!
Staff member
Had to open the safe and find a rifle for Bruce, so pulled a few out. This is one of my favorite late war rifles, swp45 sheet metal sight gun. The stock is the roughest swp45 stock ever, looks like a beaver made it! I have some other cool 1945 guns too. Sling - I always get questions about that sling. I don't think they are original, but I really like the way it looks on this rifle so I put it on there. I just looks desperate. Uploading addition pics and adding to sticky.

See what happens when Mike gets the crown out he starts pulling K98k rifles out! I remember that rifle from the forum get together a few years ago. These pictures don't do it justice in person! That rifle looks that good!

It'd sure be nice to have this one in the picture reference index with many detailed photos, hint, hint. :hail::hail::hail::hail:

You had me at 'sheet metal sight,' then I saw the stock.

And then the sling.

Man, that is incredible. Great rifle, I'm envious!

Good idea, we only have 1 other. Added some new pics, I've never taken really good pics of this one I guess except for the Kriegsmodell book.

Thanks very much Mike. It's really great to go right to the index and see these close ups of one of the finest Kriegsmodell's ever!:happy0180::hail::thumbsup:

I didn’t even know one of those existed. I’d like to simply find any wartime example of a dou.45. Cool piece :happy0180:

Awesome rifle... I start to feel pretty good about my collection until some of you guys open your safe and start posting

SWP 45 sheet metal rear sights are just sweet rifles.

Here are my two serial numbers 83486 a and 88009 a.

Note: one still has bolt take down in stock & one is a full on KM stock.

Stocks are roughly finished.

That is such a sweet rifle! Love it!

Oddly enough, I have two "a" blocks, and both are regular rear sights, which are apparently scarcer than the sheet metal sights...need to find a sheet metal sight one sometime!
