byf45 with ZF41

Absolut

Always having been after a nice byf coded ZF41 which is all matching numbers, it seems with the below shown byf45 rifle I've finally found what I've been looking for. Not only that it is really matching numbers, it also is very nice and absolutely untouched. The stock has perfect WaA135 in it (tough to picture though) and the mixture of phosphated and blued parts is anyway always cool to see.

It came with a different ZF41 which I swapped for an unnumbered one that I've had as spare since the one it came with was anyway added by the previous owner.

PS: It is always funny if you put those late Mauser rifles next to 1944 dating Mauser rifles. Most of my 44 dating Mauser made K98k rifles have welded front barrel bands and milled rear barrel bands whereas the 1945 seem to have exactly the opposite with milled front barrel bands and stamped rear barrel bands.

Congrats! Finding a matching ZF41 is not an easy task. I have a byf 44 zf41 that is all matching. Was duffel cut but that is currently being repaired. I added an unnumbered mount and found a scope for cheap. Best part is the rifle was found at a hardware store and I only paid 1400 for it.

Beautiful example! My dream K98k.

The front band appears to be the sintered metal type, which is typical in this configuration.

Nice rifle. I really like the stock. ZF41 rifles are still one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.

Is the Stock , a C Proofed Stock ???? Very Nice looking ZF41 .

Interestingly for a 1945 production K98k this rifle is not in a Kriegsmodell configuration .

Hey Antonio, check out this one: https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/71/1446/mauser-byf-45-k98-rifle-wzf41-sniper-scope . Serial of this one is 16.845 and it also doesn't have a KM stock. So maybe they used up old stock of ZF41 inletted stocks? Empire Arms even once had sold byf45 in non-KM stock that was serial 19.069, so I guess maybe this was normal for ZF41 rifles?

Dave, if I remember correctly yes it is C marked. But will need to re-check. Don't got all stock markings of my rifles in my mind!

These C Stock byf45 ZF41 are hardest configuration to find IMHO . Coincidentally Georg the Rifle in this link that You posted , resides in my collection . (https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/71/1446/mauser-byf-45-k98-rifle-wzf41-sniper-scope) .

this looks to be one of the sintered upper band on that rifle not milled. There can be a near endless combination of parts on these later war rifles. That's what makes them interesting and collectable.

I have a close brother of the rifle of Absolut : it's a byf44 L block , so very late 1944 .It' s really similar to the one of Absolut , only differences are obviously the markings on the receiver and the front barrel band , that here is stamped/welded .The stock is similar (c marked) and the finish too (some parts blued , some parkerized).
