Just received this one after a long wait, QVE 45 coded from the "L" block so produced as BLM was switching years and manufacturer code, I'm guessing January 45, I think only the K and L letter blocks show up in the "transition" blocks before they restarted numbering back to NLB. Couple of small things I thought were kind of cool, the letter block on the receiver and bolt housing is in the normal BLM cursive, the letter block stamp on the stock keel is a more straight, blocky style. I think this only happened in the "L" block QVE guns, I found a few others similarly stamped. And the dustcover is the modified type where they removed the thumb push on it, you can see where it was milled off. Handguard is a Durafel type 4.
I'm always impressed with how BLM's quality really held up, even at the end when the raw material distribution network was breaking down, keeping worker access to the assembly lines with power interruptions and other problems from the allied bombing, is pretty impressive. Even in 45 at the end this was a quality assembled rifle. Guess that's why I like BLM guns so much, compared to Walther K43's at the same time I always find there is a big quality difference between the two.
