Here for your viewing pleasure is Austro-Hungarian Contract C-96 all-matching serial number 365583 with Austro-Hungarian 1916 acceptance mark (WN (Wien (Vienna)-Hapsburg Double Eagle-16 (1916) and Austrian Army 1930 acceptance mark, so this C96 probably saw WWII service too. This was one of 14,378 delivered per this contract. Also shown is apparent unit designator R 2 4. I especially like this one since my Grandfather and several other relatives served in the Austro-Hungarian Army.

It should correctly spell "Habsburg" and not "Hapsburg", but just as a small side note. HV means HeeresVerwaltung and is an Austrian Army post WWI repair stamp. This means the pistol was in Austrian Army Arsenal in 1930. They originally were complete with shoulder stocks. As many of those got cracked, there was an official repair to the shoulder stock with a metal band wrapped around it; most possibly your pistol also got this updated shoulder stock and therefore carries the HV30 stamp on it.

A very nice pistol you can be proud of!

Very nice !
These Austrian c96s are fairly scarce. I have a 1917 Austrian accepted piece. (it's the only Austrian c96 I've ever encountered in the wild)

Beautiful example. I just picked up one of the first 3k made in 1915 by Mauser Oberndorf with stock Holster.
