Semi Auto MG3

About 5 years ago I bought a semi auto MG3 from John doe at a PA gun show. Seems to me like its a parts gun, I am interested in passing it on to a new owner, I wanted to trade it but a store owner spooked me a little bit running to the ATF to see if it was illegal. They got back to him and said send it in to see if its good to go. I didnt take him up on the offer and forgot about the trade we were going to make, I dont want them to take it....ultimately destroy it.

What are my options at this point? This item is forsale if anyone would like it or trade for it...

Post photos of the internals. Bolt, trigger pack. Inside of the receiver from the rear. (Buttstock off).

Let’s see if it’s been converted and how.

Yes it would be very easy to see with good photos.

Yep. Post some pictures. It would be very easy to see what's going on. There are plenty of semi auto MG42's out there and the MG3 is just a .308 MG42. I'm just one state away and I might even be interested in it if it's well done.

First step is removing the stock by pressing the release button on the bottom, correct? I won’t budge, the button “works” but the stock won’t slide off exposing the spring and what not.

Is it me or does that piece of metal between the stock And the receiver not belong?

You need to push the button and rotate it about 45 degrees, it has an interrupted thread attachment...

Oh, and that "dealer" sounds like a dickhead, probably trying to scare you into selling it to him cheap...oh, and (I have a small penis) him for running to the ATF if he really did...I wouldn't spend a dime with him ever again...

Ah yes, thank you! Do you know how to get the next piece off?

He was absolutely a dickhead, I don’t plan on following up...

Make sure bolt is forward, pull the pins on the grip stick, and pull that off, get good pics of whats inside...many of these were converted to an AR-15 style FCG group, inside the grip stick should tell a few things...

These guys will walk you through for sure, lot of really knowledgeable MG guys up in here....

Spring out, butt stock off. What should I do next?

Looks like the bolt is stuck in the rear position, the charging handle is free flowing. Any ideas on how to get the bolt to move again or out?

I can see already that it has AR15 trigger components.

Here is a disassembly video for a semi auto conversion:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lQ7kKQTp8g

The quality of the filming is not so goot but the information is very good. It compares original parts to semi auto parts too.

Thanks, much appreciated. That grip is being a bitch...I was able to get the pin out, per the video, but it feels snug in there. Bolt and handle is fwd, not cocked ofcourse

Also, is this marked as a Wise-Lite build or was it a home build?

I don’t believe it’s a wise-lite. If there’s a way 2 tell let me know and I’ll take a look. I’ll also get you those trigger pics,I’m thinking About going to a gunsmith tomorrow and have him help me. Not sure what I’m doing wrong and 1.5 hours later...time to get some help.
