DOU 43 Rescue

Hello,

I recently picked up this sporterized DOU 43 for a good price. This is my first time trying to rescue a military surplus rifle and restore it back to military configuration. Everything that is still present is matching numbers except for the butt plate. There are no numbers on the stock but I believe it isn't the original one anyway which is why the butt plate isn't matching. I'm looking for some guidance on what parts I need to find to restore this as close as possible. More specifically what variations of the parts? I'm tracking I need a stock, rear band, front band, bayonet lug and band spring.

You will need a cupped buttplate standard stock. For bands its a bit tricky but maybe someone has a better idea what is going on in this letter block. Here is a link to a post with a dou43 v block, which is one letter past yours. It has a milled front band and stamped rear band, along with a milled band spring. http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?317-dou-43-and-44/page2

Here is a d block with both bands being stamped http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?17718-dou-43-d-block/page2&highlight=dou43+block

Aaron,

Thanks for the reply. I saw those reference photos but seeing how there were so many variations between the rifles that were produce relatively close I was a bit confused. Any good recommendations on places to find the items I will need?

Here on the Forum Trader, Liberty Tree, or Numrich. I'm sure some people know other sites.
