Granted I don't have a problem paying a large amount of money for something I really want if it's original and matching but to pay $3,000 for a mismatched rifle that's maybe worth 1100 give me a break. That gentleman was upset because he didn't know what he was buying and two thought he got a great deal and in reality he didn't and doesn't like to hear the bad news.
You are generous to call him a gentleman Jordan. I would be less kind in my description based on what he said to some folks.

On a side note I got a beautiful all matching ax 1940 that makes this rifle look like crap and it's in the book he can have it for the low cost $6,000! Seeing how he paid $3,000 for a bolt mismatch and stock mismatched rifle.

The cost of chasing a dream, can result in a nightmare, but if the buyer is happy let it ride, it's his business.....

Enough Morons like the buyer are good temporarily if you are selling, and good long term if you are buying, because they will eventually crash the market, after they bring it to its peak.

I think the point here is not what he will pay for something, which is aberrant. The relevant analysis would include all those on this planet willing to pay what he paid for it. He is likely quite distinguished as the only person on this planet who would pay that for that rifle.
