Nice second production Gustloff k98k. I need to check the letter block of mine but I think it's really close to yours. I'll be honest I love finding k98k rifles like this in this condition. That untouched look, and has some of that aged patina in some areas. It's just a combat carried weapon it just speaks to me for some reason.

Beautiful rifle. I have a 1940 337 also. Your is in a lot better shape than mine. Mine was a vet bring back that got cut down to make a deer rifle. Just the stock was gut down so I'm in the process of replacing the stock and it's missing parts. I'm using the book Karabiner 98k to help in my research. I have it in a German stock that got remarked by the Yugoslavian army that someone sanded on it to make it look like a German stock. So there are no waffen or Yugo markings on it. But it works for now. It also shows signs of a depot rebuild but I need to do more research to make sure. I'm trying to find out why on the side of the trigger guard and the bottom of the receiver are both stamped 26 when the serial # is 55
