I've had this dot 1944 since the early 90s. I pulled it from the back of the safe, haven't seen it in awhile. I had forgotten how rough the stock was. Completely untouched. Undrilled for the rod. You can see why "collectors", bubba, etc., liked to sand this wood to make it "pretty". :googlie

Nice "corncob" finish on that one. I've seen some late, rough Arisaka stocks that also got Bubba's gussied up treatment the same as some of these.

Wow Ham,

That’s an awesome looking stock. This makes me even more excited to present that BNZ 45 here when I get it. Very nice rifle :hail:

Love it! I have a nice RC dot/swp stock with a milled disk I'm hoping to find an action for one day, has really heavy chatter like this one!

Lord that is sweet, Ham. You know how to make me jelly.
If that had the cleaning rod I'd offer a trade right now. Still very cool and probably more desirable to some with the not-drilled feature. Wonderful stock and beautiful condition metal too, which is hard to see because you have to look away from the stock for a second.

I do love me some stock chatter. What else you have hiding in your safe? I think this deserves a reference sticky.

Beautiful rifle. It’s always interesting to see the shortcuts with late war rifles.

Beautiful and untouched!! Thank you for sharing it!

Nice Rifle Ham, Its similar to mine. Is the stock marked Dot and handguard ? Thanks for showing.

Crisp blued parts  Fred Flintstone would not have produced a finer woodwork  Pantograph marks are obvious. Stark contrast between wood and metal : a "chiaroscuro" rifle you have Hambone !

Nice when you see one that hasn't been sanded. I would have loved the opportunity to see that panto in action. Dull cutters and worn mechanisms can make for some interesting viewing. Thanks for sharing this!!
