    This gun would grade to excellent if the stock had not been cleaned and the disks over-scrubbed.
    Now I would put it at VG. That stock would have had the original linseed oil finish, likely dry and with some gloss.

    Museum quality...major not!

    I think them and the butt plate got the treatment. Steel wool? Wire brush? Not the way they looked until recently I'd venture. People just can't leave things alone but someone(s) will see the bling no doubt.
