S Rune K98 with accoutrements

Hello all, first time poster long time lurker. I made my first purchase today of a K98 single S rune Steyr. I’m looking to the experts of this panel to let me know how I did. Firstly. This gun is a bring-back and non import marked. The rifle has several unmarked parts including buttstock, magazine door, sling bands and front band. The receiver lacks waffen marks. The rear sight, the floor plate, the rear sight base all match the receiver. The bolt matches itself but is close in number. (Reciever 5102, bolt 5883) the stock has no marks save an “S” stamped in the rear underside by the buttlplate.

Now. The story. The seller is a Vietnam vet himself and states his dad took the rifle on DDay+3 in France.
The rifle is accompanied by a police dress bayonet and helmet, both of which belonged to the soldier killed by his father. He is willing to send me a letter, notarized with this story and his dads unit etc.

How did I do for a first purchase?

Pictures are big so I’ll upload in segments

Wow, Looks like the real deal to me. Like you say, the bolt is an obvious mismatch and is not an SS bolt because it's stamped with a letter and therefore hints of a possible collector attempt to find a bolt that is as close as possible to the real deal, the stock has been sanded and refinished, but could be original as it appears to have the distinctive Steyr bolt relief cut. Take it apart and look for the serial number in the stock barrel channel.
You just may have struck gold, but maybe not!

Good to know the markings are real.
The stock being refinished kinda sucks but I think I’m ok.
I paid 2000$ total. The police bayonet is about 750-1200$
The helmet 2-300$ that means I paid about 1000$ for a real SS rifle with a great provenance.
If I ever sell it all the items will go together. However this was more to feel like I diddnt get swindled and less about any potential profits.

I’ll disassemble and search for a number in the barrel channel.

The top and bottom portions of wood match with a 5102

The photos aren't the clearest but I believe that the wood matches and if so that's fantastic!
Detailed photos of the helmet would be awesome! Hint, hint!

Helmet is out in my truck I’ll post tomorrow. It’s really rough. But yes it looks like all the stamps on the wood match the receiver. Now if only the damn bolt matched. Lol

Looking forward to the helmet. Any Original complete helmet is worth more then you think.

It was a fire or police helmet in the auction if I remember correctly.

Yeah it’s a civic police helmet.
I still haven’t been out to my truck but here’s some pics sent to me by seller. (Yes I know they look like he used a banana to take these)

Sorry for multiple posts it’s the image file size.
In my mind a helmet like this is 1-200$ on a good day. The bayonet im thinking is 700-1000$ The rifle I still have no idea. I want to insure these items so thats why the numbers are important. I dont buy and flip crap just for the record.
I can’t wait to get the letter that gives his dads story. This would be invaluable to the items as a package.
In any event, hope I did OK

I have one of those that is unissued. Still not worth that much compared to a field helmets.

Correction mine is a lightweight fire helmet sans comb and neck flap

Yeah I knew the helmet wasnt a crazy part of the package.
However, Can anyone tell me what color this stock SHOULD be? im guessing the lighter wood is incorrect. I dont believe this stock was sanded though, it retains some deep scars and dirt. Anyone who can help me with this color dillemma would be very helpful!
