Here is a decent S/42K for reference. One note - notice the band retaining spring in the next set of images has no serial - correct for MO up through 1938.

Wow, Kdate. We are seeing some great stuff on this site lately. It is the greatest gun show and it is right on your computer.

I didn't know that about the SN on the band.
 
Bandspring

Yep I picked up a 37 dated S/42 with MM bandspring and luckily I had a correct "un-numbered" E/63
spare to drop in and make correct. Thats a small + for MO having an easily lost part not numbered.
Damn just wish the bolts were like that - would be much easier.
