A nice combat vet 147 '40 from the 'm' block. All matching down to the screws except for the cleaning rod. Rod is numbered 40. Blue is in really nice shape for a Sauer. The stock is very worn, but I don't think it was ever sanded. There is some white residue in the area between the handguard and the stock, and some in the edges of the stock disc and recoil lug. Old whitewash, maybe? There is also a lot of really old (and hardened) grease in the bolt internals.
Barrel code is 'S 7 40 D S' E/37x2. Both 'S's are in a script font, and there is an odd rhomboid shape in front of the first S. Stock date is Na 2 16 40.
