This 10" cleaning rod came in a box with one of my MO rifles, but the "82" doesn't match the serial number ...

Very nice, but do you have any rods with "i" or even better "i" and a waffenamt? Their rear sight parts are rather common but rods are tough!

I am doing a quickie article on Elite-Diamantwerke and I would like to pilfer a picture of a really good example for my article? I have several period documents I will use to illustrate the company aspect but I also would like a good picture of some of their parts. Preferably with the "i" and waffenamt. (and only BiO takes pictures as well as you do!)

Anyway, I am actually doing to a series on the companies in the "Sachsengruppe" that "primarily" supplied Gustloff Weimar (set up for this purpose but they eventually supplied most firms at one time or another)

I hope B&M other works will really have a focus on these firms, as it is one of the least discussed topics in 98k study.

Anyone who has any Elite-Diamantwerke (or "Sachsengruppe" parts- from the big makers especially) parts that show "i" and the waffenamt I would be interested in using good pictures for my article. (credit given of course)

I have "i" marked WaA 1 rods. I can get good pics, where to send them?

Awesome! You can post them here or email through my websites? I guess no harm in putting it here, as I could not possibly get more emails from "Russian brides", porno sites or people concerned about my sex life than I do already...

The website email is graf@gewehr98.com

Send info on how to credit you also? Some are rather secretive so we try to do as the contributor asks.

Yes, the books will expand on these firms, also the Simson Suhl story and "conversion" to BSW. Here's a pic I have of an i proof rod.

Thanks for the help on the pics! Very helpful.

I knew you'd cover them, kind of have to! But I hope within the time frame of the book we can get a lot more data to cover all the firms very thoroughly! Some I have a lot of data on, others almost nothing..

Here's some pics of 2 "i" marked WaA 1 12" rods, also a "K" marked rod for Firma Luch & Wagner.

if i am reading this right it would be AWSOME!!!!! if there was a section on sucontracted parts with pics of the parts found for each subcontractor that they all made etc. followed my a section of armours parts to boot!!!

later

I am not sure how M&B planned the introduction of the firms? I think the firms will probably be discussed in Vol. II as the date the firms were organized was Oct/38 and it would be at the backside of the time frame for the next book.

Good part is we would have more time to document the firms and what they made better? There is also MAC, Radom, FN and maybe a few Solingen firms to consider? Depending on how B&M want to cover them, it could become a large chapter!

I have 1 "B" marked rod for Carl Barth, Radeberg in Sachsen. Of the hundreds of rods I've handled this is the only one I've seen.
I also have a WaA58 rod, -Collis Metallwerke GmbH., Werk II Nördlingen, Westhausen, Baden-Württemberg or
-Königliche ungarische Staatliche Eisen-, Stahl- und Maschinenfabriken, Budapest, Hungary

Carl Barth is a tough one as it is one of the companies i have had a hell of time finding data on.. might it also have a waffenamt?

I have a couple Elite Diamant i rods, several e/63 10" rods, and a K and e/4 marked rod. If you want pictures, you know where I am :)

The rod is WaA 4.
Interesting, it has the same manufacturing techniques as the Elite Diamant rods? They are unique at the patch end.

Good to know L, do a couple of the K e/4 if you can?

I have a good bit of data on Luck & Wagner but no period documents.. yet!
I am going to do a series on the ones i have catalogs or price lists from and that have cool pics of the firms letterhead or picture of the company.
Carl Barth, I had shinola on, but eventually I will get them all covered as to what they made, and details about the companies.

More than likely the bulk of this info will be in the 2nd Volume as SimsonSuhl suggest.

I'm going to stick this as the official "cleaning rod thread".
